Happy Mothers’ Day to all of our moms in Beaver
Nation!

Thank you for those of you who came out to the
PTO Carnival last Saturday. We hope you enjoyed
the event and we greatly appreciate your support.

Thank you for the recognition provided to our teachers
in the form of gifts, notes and the wonderful PTO luncheon
during Teacher Appreciation Week. Staff is very grateful for
your expressions of thanks. We are only as effective as
our partnership with you, our parent community.

Summer Camps as well as for After Care for 2019-2020.

Hello to the week Little River School Community!
Congratulations to Ms. Lewis, 7th/8th grade science
teacher, who was recognized at our recent Board meeting
with a Spark pin! The DPS Office of Public Affairs
launched a recognition initiative this Spring to acknowledge
staff who Ignite the Limitless Potential of DPS.  Last month,
Ms. Bailey-Smith, our school art teacher, was recognized
by the Board also for Igniting the Limitless Potential of DPS!

FIELD DAY on Wednesday, April 17th. Some of the stations will include 
some water getting the students a little wet so sending a change of clothes 
might be a good idea.

Hello to the week Little River School Community!
Congratulations to our Battle of the Books and Science
Olympiad teams on your recent competitions. Speaking
of academic competitions, our Little River Beavers will
compete Saturday, March 9 representing Little River in
the regional Spelling Bee.

Here are some items happening this week:

The School Improvement-Leadership Team and PTO
will meet on Monday, March 4.

Our Black History Month assembly will take place this
Thursday March 7. Students will be treated to a musical
history of African-American culture through a performance
by Pierce Freelon’s The Beast, a musical group.

There are two big PTO events this week: The PTO Spring
Book Fair begins this week and continues through March 14.
Additionally, the PTO Quarter Auction takes place this
Saturday, March 9.

Don’t forget that Thursday, March 7 is also school picture

The Kids Heart Challenge donation envelopes are

Hello to the week Little River School Community!
The PTO Glow Dance is this Friday, Feb 1. Friday is
also a Little River Spirit Day: Wacky Tacky Day.

Several Little River art students have art on display at
the Durham’s Finest Art exhibit at NCCU. Congratulations
to each of them!

djusted to February 12 due to the state issue with
PowerSchool.
