News you can use!

  • Help your child’s class earn a Pizza Party! Our PTO is excited to launch a paper drive for the month of November! Printer paper is ALWAYS something that's in short supply in our schools. The classroom that donates the most paper by the end of November will win a pizza party from the PTO! All paper donated will be available for ALL teachers and staff members to use- and we have a lot of teachers and staff! Two ways you can help:

    • 1) Send paper in with your student. Reams or boxes should have your student's name, homeroom teacher's name, and "PTO" written on the outside. Your student should drop this paper off in the front office for the PTO to properly credit to their classroom, or drop off in car line!

    • 2) Order through the PTO Amazon wish list and the paper will be shipped directly to us! Be sure to note your student's name and teacher's name in the notes at Check Out.

  • Little River School has been designated as a Targeted Support & Improvement Additional Targeted Support (TSI-AT) school by the North Carolina State Board of Education.  As stated in ESSA Section 1111(d)(2), North Carolina had to identify schools for targeted support and improvement. TSI-AT schools in North Carolina are those that have a subgroup that is under-performing. The intent of this opportunity is to improve educational outcomes for all students, close achievement gaps, increase equity, and improve the quality of instruction. Read here how Little River school improvement efforts are working to improve outcomes for all of our students.
