Hello to the week Little River School Community!

Congratulations to our Battle of the Books and Science

Olympiad teams on your recent competitions. Speaking

of academic competitions, our Little River Beavers will

compete Saturday, March 9 representing Little River in

the regional Spelling Bee.

Here are some items happening this week:

The School Improvement-Leadership Team and PTO

will meet on Monday, March 4.

Our Black History Month assembly will take place this

Thursday March 7. Students will be treated to a musical

history of African-American culture through a performance

by Pierce Freelon’s The Beast, a musical group.

There are two big PTO events this week: The PTO Spring

Book Fair begins this week and continues through March 14.

Additionally, the PTO Quarter Auction takes place this

Saturday, March 9.

Don’t forget that Thursday, March 7 is also school picture

Our students have made a great leap forward in our

work as a Leader in Me School! Ask your child

about his or her leadership notebook and how it

might help them with their learning goals.With report

cards having recently come home, it is a good time

to check in about performance, and, if need be,

schedule a conference with your child’s teacher.

Your child’s leadership notebook would be a great

focus of conversations!

Wednesday, February 13, is an early release day.

Students will dismiss at 12:15.

The Kids Heart Challenge donation envelopes are

due to Ms. Neil by Feb. 15th. The events will take

place in PE classes beginning on Feb. 15th.

The middle school dance will be Friday, February

15, at the school.

Hello to the week Little River School Community!

The PTO Glow Dance is this Friday, Feb 1. Friday is

also a Little River Spirit Day: Wacky Tacky Day.

Several Little River art students have art on display at

the Durham’s Finest Art exhibit at NCCU. Congratulations

to each of them!

djusted to February 12 due to the state issue with

PowerSchool.
