Teacher assignments and bus schedules will be available via Parent Portal on August 20.
As we prepare for the start of the new school year, we wanted to provide some guidance to our parents on how best to navigate health and immunization requirements, the management of students with medical conditions, and COVID-19 health and safety guidance in accordance with CDC, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and the Durham County Department of Health. Durham Public Schools will continue to ask parents, guardians, and visitors not to enter schools as we begin the 2021-22 school year in an effort to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19. DPS administration and the school board will continue to monitor official guidance and will revisit the subject as the school year goes on. Open House will be an in-person event with a virtual option.
DPS will continue to support students by issuing a Chromebook computer to every individual Little River student kindergarten through eighth grade. Every Little River student needs a DPS Chromebook whether you have a computer at home or not because the DPS devices are preloaded to access the DPS network and access the educational software students will need for their daily schedule when instruction starts on August 24th. Look out soon for Chromebook distribution dates.
