The CDC updated the recommended quarantine and isolation periods for those exposed to COVID-19 on December 27, 2021. These updated recommendations have been incorporated in NC Strong Schools Toolkit. DPS has adopted DPS’ COVID protocols accordingly. These updates are designed to keep students in the classroom and/or get them back to class sooner based on the latest data provided by the CDC. The updates are:
Quarantine Period: 10 days reduced to 5 days
Masking Close Contact Expectations Post Exposure
Masking Exemptions
Asymptomatic vs. Symptomatic Clarification
Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated Clarification
Last Friday Little River did not hold our Discovery and Encore programming as usual. Staffing stresses in light of the surge in COVID-19 cases across our community necessitated the reassignment of these team members to cover some general education classrooms for the day.This schedule was a temporary measure and this programming resumed Monday (January 10).
