August 31

Hello to the week Little River School Community!

I hope that it has been a great first week of school.
By this time you have had an opportunity to meet
your child’s teachers, talk with child about his/her
school day, and learned the best way to contact
your child’s teacher. Grade levels will be hosting
curriculum nights in the upcoming weeks of September.
Watch our school website for days and times for each
grade level. You’ve had the opportunity to meet and
greet your child’s teacher at Open House, Curriculum
Night is the chance to learn the academic program
that your child will engage.

This Wednesday, the State of North Carolina will
release our school’s performance data for last school
year. If you would like additional information about
these scores, and what they mean, I will share at our
upcoming School Improvement and PTO meetings on
September 10th.

Durham County Library and Durham Public Schools
are very excited to announce the October 1st launch
of the Bull City, NC Schools & Libraries Achieving
More (SLAM) initiative. This project provides all
students in the Durham Public Schools with access
to Durham County Library resources through use of
their student ID (PowerSchool ID number) to access
the Durham County Library electronic and print materials.
Look for information in students’ backpack this Friday!
Have a great holiday and week of school! And
remember to walk the river way every day in Beaver
Nation: to learn respect and shine!
Kindly,

Dr. C. Hogans
